On Wednesday hundreds of Royal Caribbean staff across the world, including chairman and ceo Richard Fain, will visit almost 7,000 travel agents to say ‘thank you’ for their support.
Kicking off in Australia and New Zealand, what has been billed as the ‘World’s Largest Travel Agent Appreciation Day’ will then roll westwards throughout the day into Asia, Europe and, finally, into the Americas.
This single-day global event will cover the entire Royal Caribbean network in more than 25 countries including the United States, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Scandinavia, Spain, Italy, France, Mexico, Brazil, China, Japan, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.
Royal Caribbean’s md for Australia, Gavin Smith, will join 30 staff from the Sydney sales, marketing and reservations team to reach more than 300 agents in Australia and New Zealand.
Fain and RCI president and ceo Adam Goldstein will visit agents in Florida and svp of global sales and marketing, Lisa Bauer, will be in Mexico City.
‘Travel agents are absolutely our most valuable assets and this is our special day to show our thanks,’ said Adam Armstrong, Royal Caribbean Cruises Australia’s commercial manager.
